Performance is enhanced in metal cutting applications by a unique tooth design and set pattern. The thick, hardened backing plates prevent warping at holes and increases cycles. DeWalt has increased the size of the bi-metal portion of the hole saw and uses M3 steel to not only increase wear resistance but also produce faster cuts. The deep-cut style increases the versatility by allowing a wider range of thicknesses of material to be cut.
